Organization + Facility (OF) is the sixth of nine C3LD nested channels. On this page we actively curate living design information at the organization and facility scale through the “#C3LDof” Twitter Hashtag and the Pinterest Board “Organization+Facility”
We also host the emergent Twitter Feeds: #Leed, #livingbuilding, #GreenBuilding, #GreenDesign, #bcorp, #nonprofit, #cooperative and #WorkerCooperative.
How do we define Design + Thinking?
“Organizations enliven the space between communities and individuals. They are a body of people (or other living entities) with a particular purpose including, but not limited to businesses, associations and families. As defined using the Reliable Prosperity “Green Business” definition an organization “simultaneously enhances nature, society, and capital. It creates new opportunities for itself by optimizing this triple bottom line.”
Facilities commonly house or support organizations (or communities). They are places that provide permanent, semi-permanent or temporary physical elements such as buildings, structures and equipment (non-living and living) that are being used to provide services of all kinds (tangible or intangible). They include ecologically occurring elements of a place or elements that have been intentionally developed and adapted.
