How do we define Life + Planet?
“Plants are one of the two groups into which all living things were traditionally divided; the other is animals … fungi and several groups of algae <form their own> kingdoms. However, these organisms are still often considered plants, particularly in popular contexts ” Wikipedia March 03, 2016. Soil is very closely related to plants and we include topics related to it in this stream.
Water covers 71% of the Earth’s surface. It is vital for all known forms of life. On Earth … only 2.5% of water is freshwater, and 98.8% of that water is in ice (excepting ice in clouds) and groundwater. Less than 0.3% of all freshwater is in rivers, lakes, and the atmosphere” Wikipedia March 03, 2016. While water is strongly associate with all forms of life, we have nested it with Plants because of the exceptionally close relationship between plants, soil and water.
